- Who are current members of parliament and list them in order of portfolio?
Hi,
This is one of those answers that changes sometimes on a daily basis making it almost impossible to answer.
Political allegiances change at the drop of a hat in PNG. It is not unknown for a few members of a political party to be in the opposition and a few to be in the ruling coalition.,
I would hazard a guess that even the PM doesn't know who is on his side and who is on someone elses side.,
Try visiting -- http://michie.net/pnginfo/png-govt.html as there is usually an attempt to list the members of parliament / MP's on that page.

- Where can I find a list of Governor's of the various PNG Provinces?
Try visiting -- http://michie.net/pnginfo/png-govt.html as there is usually an attempt to list the members of parliament / MP's on that page and at the bottom is a list of the Governors.

- Where can I find a list of political parties in PNG?
Political parties come and go. Members are sometime expelled and sometimes just move. The PNG Electoral Commission web site may be able to help you. -- http://www.pngec.gov.pg/pngparties.html

- who is the richest man in Papua New Guinea?
Most likley a politician but what do you mean by "wealth". I have been told that wealth in PNG is not measured in the same way as wealth in other countries. A man with 5 wives and 30 kids might have no money to his name but be far wealthier than the man with the most money.

- What can happen to leaders who are not effective?
By leaders I assume you mean politicians? They can be removed from office although most times they resign before that happens.
to top

Good question and one I do not know an answer to. I know of one company that sell maps of PNG so may be it would be best to contact them.

- Can you please tell me the first name and date of birth of Jon Guheno?
I think the correct spelling is Giheno and I have always heard him being called John. All the newspaper articles refer to him as John.
But knowing how many people in PNG swap and change names at the drop of a hat he may very well have other names.
Do you know him by another name?
I have not been able to find a date of birth. http://www.appf.org.pe/members/017abou3.htm has some birthdates for politicians but not John.
John Giheno was acting Prime Minister from the 27 March 1997 until the 2nd of June 1997.

These pages need your help - If you know an answer to a FAQ about PNG that isn't here or is here and is wrong please let me know. Please remember that this is a FAQ database about Papua New Guinea.
Doing a search for PNG or New Guinea or even P.N.G will probably not return much. Keep the search simple. i.e. if you want to find out the population simply enter "population" without the quotes. There is no need to have PNG / P.N.G or whatever in the search string.
Also - Spelling is important searching for 'inkom' will not return items related to 'income'. If you are searching Lady Carol Kidu just enter Carol Kidu or even Kidu. You are not searching the WWW only these FAQ's so the topic has already been narrowed to PNG related topics for you.
