Goroka Grammar School is a Franchise Study Centre of the University of Papua New Guinea.

Miss PNG 2006, Miss Coffee Genevieve Roberts, is a teacher at the school.

Miss Coffee Genevieve Roberts took out the title of Miss Tourism at the annual Miss PNG Red Cross charity gala ball at the Crowne Plaza Hotel on Dec 2, 2006. Miss Roberts, 23, also took out the major title after being crowned Miss PNG. As a reward for being crowned Miss Tourism, the Goroka Grammar school teacher of mixed Milne Bay and Bougainville parentage, will accompany the PNGTPA marketing team to ITB in Berlin and JATA in Tokyo in 2007 to promote PNG as a desire tourist destination. The charity quest is a major fundraiser for the PNG Red Cross Society which raised a total of K284, 823.74 to assist in the society's humanitarian work in Papua New Guinea.
