2010 Alpine Rally

The 41st Alpine Rally was held along the banks of the Goodradigbee River. This year we travelled in via the Australian Capital Territory and Uriarra Rd before joining Brindabella Rd at Uriarra Forest bypassing Cotter Dam.

Along Brindabella Rd, as we climbed over the mountain range, we encountered several patches of snow. The snow had been compacted by other vehicles and was not too slippery for the single track, single wheel drive motorcycle although I do admit the GS's were making better progress than the road tyred bike we were on.

As per the 2008 rally the entry to the rally site was across a paddock with many wombat holes. Here is a photo taken in 2008

It was interesting coming out across this paddock in the morning.

Once at the rally site we set up our tent and managed to catch Henning having a hot bath. (is the other person Steve Brown?)
