The temperature in the morning was reported as being at least -6.5 degrees C. By the time I found the camera and warmed up the batteries enough to be able to provide power for the camera the temperature had reached -6.0C. Here is a picture of the speedo etc of the bike the temperature reading was taken from.
and below is a photo of the actual tempearture reading at 7:22am.

It is a bit blurry but you can see the -6.0 reading. BMW in their wisdom get the reading to flash when it falls to 3 degrees or below so I had to take many shots before the temp would flash on rather than be off. The flashing is to warn you about the possiblilty of black ice. On the road out, this time heading for Tumut via Bondo we saw many puddles that had frozen overnight.
