- Where can I stay in Mendi?
Kiburu Lodge is located at an altitude of 1,750 metres (5,700 feet) on the banks of the Mendi River on the outskirts of Mendi. The lodge is designed in the local architectural style and built largely from traditional materials.

You can stay at Ambua Lodge an inspired mixture of local architecture, spectacular views and modest luxury off the beaten track. It is located at 7000 feet (2100 metres) above sea level.

You can stay at Tubo Lodge, situated on an atoll overlooking the Lake. The lodge was built by the local people to allow visitors to observe traditional life in comfortable surroundings and constructed of bush materials.

- Where can I stay near Kimbe?
Located past the town of Kimbe and about 80 Kilometres from Hoskins airport, Walindi Plantation Resort is the home to Walindi Diving and the home port for the "MV FeBrina".
Walindi Diving is a shore based diving operation catering for up to 28 divers in three purpose built boats. These boats operate daily and run within 20 Nautical Miles of Walindi Plantation Resort offering a choice of two or three dives per day.

- Where can I stay in Mount Hagen?
You can stay at three main places --
The Highlander Hotel is close to the centre of Mount Hagen and offers 68 rooms.
Kimininga Lodge is located about 1 km from the city centre and offers different standard rooms to suit all budgets with a friendly atmosphere, licensed restaurant, function rooms and airport transfers.
Haus Poroman Lodge is located in a village, 9 kilometres from Mount Hagen at an altitude of 6,200 feet (1,900 metres). The village land overlooks the Waghi Valley and the township of Mount Hagen.

- How much is a kina worth in US dollars?
At the moment the Kina has been fairly stable.
One Kina = approx 35 - 36 US Cents (June 2009) but it pays to check on a daily basis as the US dollar vary against most currencies on a daily basis.

I can not really answer your question but have a look at -- as an intial starting point. If you let me know where you are travelling from then I may be able to point you in the correct direction.

There is a very active Indian community in Port Moresby.
The cost of housing will depend on how long you want to stay for and whether you are travelling by yourself or with a family etc.
If you are coming for a short visit then it may be difficult to arrange a house but if you are coming to work then usually your employer will pay the cost of accommodation.
Accommodation ranges from K500 per week upwards. Depending on what you expect reasonable accommodation for an overseas worker would start at maybe K750 but this is going up. An excutive residence may cost you in excess of K2000 per week.
If you are only coming for a short stay in hotel accommodation starts at K150 at places like the Plaza Guest house and costs go up from there.

Doing a search for PNG or New Guinea or even P.N.G will probably not return much. Keep the search simple. i.e. if you want to find out the population simply enter "population" without the quotes. There is no need to have PNG / P.N.G or whatever in the search string.
Also - Spelling is important searching for 'inkom' will not return items related to 'income'. If you are searching Lady Carol Kidu just enter Carol Kidu or even Kidu. You are not searching the WWW only these FAQ's so the topic has already been narrowed to PNG related topics for you.
